We honor Takelma, Latgawa, Shasta, and other original caretakers of the land upon which South Mountain Friends gather.  We acknowledge our Quaker forebears’ complicity in the systems of oppression that drove these people from these lands. We commit to the work of dismantling the remains of those systems. We pledge to act in solidarity with these First Peoples as they seek redress for the damages those systems have caused, as we together steward and protect our shared home.
